Finally, Boston and London came together for a memorable soiree. The captivating runway show featured Karen Millen’s unparalleled designs from phase two of the Autumn/Winter 2009 Collection.
In addition to the futuristic inspirations, the runway models portrayed major influences such as fairy tale illustrations, romantic images and urban cityscape. From modern party wear to glamorous red carpet pieces, sophisticated elegance conquered the show. Specifically, Greta Garbo, Bianca Jagger, Grace Jones and Tim Walker photographs were some of the major inspirations for this collection.

Want to go behind the scenes for Karen Millen’s first runway show in Boston? Well, here is your chance to preview the mayhem and the excitement in the dressing rooms.
Umi in Boston did a phenomenal job with make-up by accentuating facial structure while enhancing a subtle glow and vibrant lips. The models sported an up-do with volume at the top of the head and hair secured in a low bun. I must say, seeing this “do” reminded me of my experience with Orlando Pita and his creative ability to pull together amazing hairstyles for the runway.
